VALLEY TRAIL
Part of Fredericton’s trail system, the 10.7-km Valley Trail is also a section of The Great Trail spanning Canada to all three of our oceans. From beside the Superstore parking lot at 471 Smythe Street, the trail goes westward to the city limits on Woodstock Road.
A variety of habitats will be observed while walking this trail: residential neighbourhoods, commercial structures, a horse pasture, woodland, an RV Resort, Angelview Park and a riverbank.
The Valley Trail often reveals views of our Canadian Heritage River, the St. John River, and its islands. Sightings of birds along the way include waterfowl, woodpeckers and warblers, as well as a good variety of other songbirds.
