BOTANIC GARDEN
This 21-ha western section of Odell Park slopes upward from the Fredericton Botanic Garden Association’s Resource Centre at 10 Cameron Court to the ballfields at 695 Prospect Street. A parking lot and trail access can be found at each end.
From its beginning in 1990, the Botanic Garden has been enhanced with multiple theme gardens, sculptures, interpretive panels, trails, and benches.
Habitats within the garden include grass, bushes, fruit trees, a mixed forest, a pond, and a creek. The outside wall of the Resource Centre hosts an Eastern Phoebe nest. The Aboriginal Take It Outside learning project operates near the building.
Gazing up from the earth-bound delights, you may view Evening Grosbeaks, Blue Jays, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds,
woodpeckers, and thrushes. Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows may adopt on-site nest boxes.
